Is there an order in which one should try to gain access to grants? Are they some easier? Can I submit the same grant to multiple funds?

In step 1 of an ERC Grant proposal evaluation, only part B1 with an extended synopsis of the project is evaluated. Some parts of the complete project from part B2 cannot be included due to length limitations but the absence of these elements in part

How detailed should the budget be (invoices required?), and how do we justify allocating 20k for publishing fees (open access, Nature journals)?

Should we set specific timeframes for each work package, or is it acceptable to have one spanning 3 years (like sample collection), even if this leads to overlap and heavier workloads in some years?

Can you share some infos regarding the length of the whole grant writing process? When do you recommend to start? Should it take your whole time during a precise moment? Who needs to be consulted?

I do not know if a proposal must be sold as a perfect story or we must precise that we cannot control everything.

In the absence of a clear indication of the amount the editor is going to request for publishing my book (based on my thesis), how much do I ask for?

I am currently approaching different editors for the publishing of my book based on my thesis and I will need to "ask for money" at some point. What is the most appropriate timing?
